Excelsior Pattern Tester Parade

Pattern testers make dreams come true! Without their help Excelsior would never have been brought to life. There are so many exciting variations of the Excelsior Quilt Pattern, and the pattern testers did not disappoint! It is so fun to see how individual creators put their own twists on the pattern, having their personality shine through.

Without further ado, I present:

A Piece of Quiet Quilts

Meghan of A Piece of Quiet Quilts created this beaut! I love that she used such vibrant colors that really pops against the blue background. If you zoom in, you can see the beautiful quilting she did on her long-arm.

Pieces & Pigment

Kris of Pieces and Pigment created this fun loving Excelsior quilt. The contrast of the elegant prints against the pop of yellow is striking.

Stitched Chaos

Brianna of Stitched Chaos created this moody, ombre, and “achromatic” Excelsior Quilt. If you check closer, you’ll see variegated thread that is the cherry on top of this version of Excelsior. This quilt is a great example of how much this quilt can be personalized.

Sweet B Quilts Co.

Becky of Sweet B Quilts Co. created this amazing Excelsior Quilt. The neutral background with the navy and rust colors are giving off all of the pumpkin spice vibes.

Acoustic Space Cat

Mikka of Acoustic Space Cat really delivered on this dazzlingly happy quilt. The warm colors against the cool blue background are stunning.

Serune Craft

Afna of Serune Craft designed this impressive batik version of Excelsior. She wanted to make her Duo-Tone quilt a bit bigger and decided to add borders- an excellent idea! The Excelsior Quilt Pattern is very customizable.

White Rose Designs

Kelsey of White Rose Designs created this sweet version of Excelsior. This version shows how color choices highlight different blocks: the economy block or the sawtooth star.

Sammy Dahlstrom

Sammy’s punchy citrus colors makes her version of Excelsior so eye catching! This fabric pull is perfectly accentuated with Robert Kaufman’s Kona Solid Color of the Year: Crush.

Kelly Hynam

Kelly’s fabric choices for the Duotone version of Excelsior make me swoon. A exceptional solid and print combo!

Wendy Nelson

Wendy whipped up this stunning version of Excelsior in almost no time flat! Evidence of how quickly and easily this quilt comes together while appearing complicated.

Cobabe Co.

I made this playful Florida quilt for my sweet new niece, Alta. I wanted to use high contrast colors to be eye catching and stimulating for her little eyes. Not to mention the fun mini-panels fit perfectly (thank you, Ruby Star Society and Sarah Watts)! Aren’t those gators and manatees darling?! I loved quilting the entirety of this quilt by hand, and dashing a little extra texture for baby fingers with the soft yarn ties and satin binding.

All of these pattern testers have been brilliant in their efforts to help me bring Excelsior into the world! Words cannot express the amount of gratitude I have for them and their talent; not to mention their sacrifice of time, brain power, and fabric. These inspirational quilts and their makers deserve a standing ovation! I hope that you are inspired and are dreaming up the perfect fabric pull to make your own Excelsior Quilt a reality.
